One of the questions the publice frequently asks, is "What's the difference between a bartender and a mixologist?" We think of the difference between a mixologist and a bartender as being similar to the differences between a chef and a cook. A mixologist has received more extensive training, has greater industry knowledge and usually works in the more upscale food and beverage establishments. In addition, a mixologist usually commands a higher base salary and can expect more tips due to an increased drink repetoire.
Our Professional Mixology course is a forty-hour course which consists of ten four-hour bartending classes. Our mixology course can be completed over a one or two week period. Our classes start each Monday.

from the National Restaraunt Association.

The graduate of our mixology course will have learned how to professionally prepare 125 traditional drinks as well as the latest trendy drinks that are popular in each city. Drinks range from the traditional martini & manhattan to the ever popular sex on the beach. In addition, the student will learn beer, wine, and professional customer service techniques. The school uses the Anheuser-Busch "Beertender" training program and the Guinness Beer "Perfect Pour" training program.
In addition, each graduate will have received 5 hours of training in responsible alcohol service. We teach the National Restaurant Association "ServSafe" program. The class uses a separate textbook which is included in our tuition and the graduate will receive a wallet card (pictured on the above right) that documents their certification. The NRA certification is valid for three years and recognized nationally. This additional certification not only protects our graduates, but allows them to start bartending immediately with not additional training or certifications.
